What is Homœopathy?
Homœopathy offers a powerful means of stimulating the body’s innate healing power, giving it a boost when it is not coping – which is obviously the case in disease.
Homœopathy promises treatment that is safe, rapid and gentle. It was formally introduced to the world when a German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann, published the ‘Organon of Medicine’ in 1810. The principles that Hahnemann set forth in this book still apply today.
Homœopathy is based on the ‘Law of Similars’. This means that a substance which in large doses causes the symptoms of an illness, can be used in minute doses to relieve those same symptoms. So, for example, one homœopathic medicine used for insomnia contains minute amounts of coffee.
Homœopathy is acknowledged by the World Health Organisation as a valid form of health care.
