About Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a traditional form of medicine that was developed over 200 years ago by Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician. He demonstrated the simple principle on which homeopathy is based;  ‘like cures like’.

This means that a substance, which in large doses causes the symptoms of an illness, can be used in minute doses to relieve similar symptoms. For example, one homeopathic preparation used to treat insomnia contains minute amounts of coffee.

The practice of homeopathy has spread throughout Europe and beyond, to England, the Americas, India, Australia and New Zealand. A recent report published by the Swiss Government concluded that:

“There is sufficient evidence for the preclinical effectiveness and the clinical efficacy of homeopathy and for its safety and economy compared with conventional treatment.”

Homeopathy views all symptoms that you experience as an indication of an underlying state of imbalance. Emotional and environmental stresses are taken into account when prescribing a homoeopathic preparation.
